Return to Sender, The New Nervous, Another Statistic
This lineup takes us all the way back to 2006, and for Return to Sender and The New Nervous (known for one show as Between Sleep & Sound) it takes us back to our grand opening weekend which they both played! We couldn't be more excited to reunite all these bands that helped kick off the Velour era in the Provo music scene!
Return To Sender: This band started as 14-16 year olds and it wasn't long before their innovative, percussive indie-rock shook up the scene! They were packing all of their shows and most of the crowd were members of all the veteran bands in town!
The New Nervous: Before Scott Shepard was beloved as the angelic voice behind local chamber-pop legends Book On Tape Worm, he was known as one of the scene's most ferocious rock singers! The New Nervous is one of his earliest and most legendary projects who were a staple at Velour for our first few years! Note: Some of the core members of the band recently formed Blackshape and although quiet locally, have been creating international buzz and playing major festival dates all over the world!
Another Statistic: Elaine Bradley is best known as the drummer for international pop band Neon Trees, but before the pop, there was the rock! This math-rock trio created a huge sound and huge buzz in the early days of Velour! We were sad when they ended, but excited when the trio resurrected itself as Noble Bodies years later. This show will feature music from their entire catalog!
Boots to the Moon: Whether you know Jo Castor as Boots to the Moon, or as the front man for legendary Provo indie-rock band Mathematics Et Cetera, you remember his otherworldly voice which he uses more as a musical instrument than as a traditional singer. Show up early as Jo will be kicking off the show with a short set!
