TrashMoon Ladies Night
Come hang with songstresses, country singin’, foot stomping ladies of the Trash Moon Collective: Melissa Chilinski, Michelle Moonshine, and Opener: Amy Cyzman and Cis-Men. Start your weekend off right with incredible local music and community before camping at the Ogden Music Festival to catch more local and touring roots musicians.
The Trash Moon Collective is the hub of Salt Lake City’s old time, bluegrass, and folk music community, offering jams, dances, unique shows, house concerts, collaborations, and more. We’re about working together to build a more fun, more music-filled community by supporting musicians, jammers, and audiences alike. This evening will feature three unique sets from women in our bada$$ country/bluegrass scene.
Opener - Amy Cyzmen and the Cis-Men
First Set - Melissa Chilinski with mystery band (you’ll have to come and find out!)
Second Set - Michelle Moonshine Trio
About Melissa -
Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist, Melissa's music carries the spirit of the land and the stories of the people who live close to it. Rooted in traditional folk and old-time sounds, Melissa blends clawhammer banjo, guitar, and heartfelt, jazz-inspired vocals into a style that feels both timeless and uniquely her own. Originally from the Boston area and now calling Salt Lake City home, Melissa’s background in soil science and her years working in agriculture and conservation deeply inform her songwriting. Her music reflects a life spent close to the earth, with themes of resilience, journey, and belonging woven into every melody.
She is an active figure in the Utah acoustic music community, performing both as a solo artist and with too many bands to name. She leads the Trash Moon Collective, a project dedicated to nurturing local folk musicians through jams, workshops, and grassroots shows.
About Michelle -
With rich vocals and a country heart, Michelle breaks down the barrier between music maker and listener, becoming known in the area for a lively stage presence and the ability to connect with her audience. Michelle blends Country, Folk, Bluegrass, and Rock n Roll with original lyrics that explore themes of love, heartbreak, and personal growth, and will be performing with her local trio of seasoned professional musicians.
